SMART Goals Workbook for Athletes & Parents
During my athlete days, I always had goals for myself but it created this sort of pressure that was unbearable and made it hard to stay focused. I spent so much time fixated on outcomes I could not fully control that I lost sight of the process, the part that actually makes you better. I made this workbook to help athletes, and their parents, create a guide to goal setting in a way that is helpful, not hurtful.
As a former Division I basketball player and a mental performance coach, I know firsthand what it feels like to carry the weight of expectations alongside the love of a sport. I also know that when goal setting is done right, it does not add pressure. It removes it. It gives you clarity, direction, and a reason to show up even on the days when motivation is nowhere to be found.
The SMART Goals Workbook for Athletes and Parents was built with both the athlete and the support system in mind. Inside you will find the science behind why goal setting works, a breakdown of the three types of goals every athlete should know, step by step worksheets for building goals across sport performance, mental wellbeing, and life skills, and reflection tools to help you track progress and adjust along the way.
This is not about setting goals to please a coach or earn a spot on a roster. This is about learning how to use goal setting as a mental performance skill that builds confidence, sharpens focus, and carries you further than talent alone ever could.
Whether you are an athlete chasing your next level or a parent trying to support without adding to the pressure, this workbook was made for you. Because when the mind is trained with intention, the performance follows.
